Fast & Effective Therapy
My name is Christopher Stone and I’d like to tell you a little about my hypnotherapy practice and my professional background. I’m a fully qualified hypnotherapist working on the Kent and East Sussex border near Tunbridge Wells in the South East of England. Over the years I have treated clients from across the region and occasionally further afield. People usually contact me as a result of referrals from former clients who recommend my services, or they find me through an internet search.
When they call, a person might be clear about precisely what help they are looking for, or they may be a little unsure about the true nature of their problem, and curious as to whether hypnotherapy is the appropriate treatment. We discuss a brief outline of their situation, and I then offer to assist them in finding the right solution. Whether that solution is hypnotherapy or another form of treatment is dependent upon the nature of the problem.
I always treat my clients as unique individuals. No two people are the same. The treatment I offer is specifically tailored to their individual needs.
My approach is guided by a simple set of principles:
"Deliver the highest standards of therapy, using techniques best-suited to the client’s needs, in a professional and ethical manner, and in the briefest period of time."
I’ve applied that philosophy to my work during these past seven years of clinical practice, and it has proved itself time and again to be a correct and effective approach.

How did I become a hypnotherapist?
In the style of the old Remington shaver TV ad, “I liked the product so much, I bought the company”, I came to hypnotherapy as a client. I benefited greatly in just a few sessions, and those sessions proved to be a psychological life-saver for me.
My initial training was at the European College of Hypnotherapy and in 2003 I graduated with the Diploma in Hypnotherapy, and General Qualification in Hypnotherapy Practice. At the college I studied under the renowned international psychologist, Dr Keith Hearne, an acclaimed and widely-published authority in the field of Hypnotherapy and Dream Research, and whose ‘Dream Machine’ is on display in the London Science Museum.
In 2005 I was awarded the Advanced Professional Practitioner Diploma at the Academy of Hypnosis & Hypnotherapy. I am a practitioner member of the General Hypnotherapy Register.
I am happily married, and we have two grown up sons. In the years prior to hypnotherapy, I enjoyed a long and successful career in the media industry, rising to a senior management position in a global company. This involved extensive travel around the world, and gave me the opportunity to accumulate a wealth of multi-cultural experiences.
I draw on this diverse background in my therapeutic work.
My greatest satisfaction comes from helping people overcome their problems, to enable them to meet their emotional needs in the most effective and empowering way.
Hypnotherapy comes of age
In the world of hypnotherapy, things are changing fast! Hypnotherapy is coming of age in a very dramatic way. The old concept of the swinging watch is being superseded by new and exciting methods with skilled practitioners elevating standards across the profession.
Unfortunately as with a number of other therapies, a lack of regulation means that there are some poorly trained people out there who (well meaning or not) give the rest of us a bad name. Happily the process of regulation is now well under way, and before too long incompetent ‘practitioners’ will be a thing of the past.
The use of hypnosis in therapy goes back many centuries. There is a vast amount of knowledge available to us now to explain why we respond so effectively to particular hypnotherapeutic techniques. The use of hypnosis is becoming a skill that is being recognized by a growing number of mainstream medical practitioners as an effective and safe complementary treatment.
Continuing research sheds ever more light on how our minds control every aspect of our lives, and this new knowledge validates the profession and paves the way for hypnotherapy to be at the forefront of psychological treatments in the future.
If you would like to talk to me, and if you would like to know what hypnotherapy can do for you, please give me a call. There is no obligation to seek treatment, and I’m happy to pass on any advice that might be helpful.
I look forward to speaking to you soon.
