Harmful Habits
Habits are repetitive patterns of behaviour – things we tend to do without thinking about them. Some habits are good habits, some are a bit of a nuisance, and some are quite destructive and harmful.
Just as a habit is ‘learned’ it can also be ‘un-learned’. Our brains develop repetitive patterns of behaviour which in the right circumstances serves us well.
But this ability to repeat an unhelpful behaviour can seem to have a mind of its own.
The good news is that a repetitive programme running in the subconscious part of our mind can be changed if we so wish it.
Hypnotherapy can ‘re-programme’ the pattern so that it no longer repeats. I’ve treated a wide variety of harmful habits from nail-biting to thumb-sucking.
