Panic Attacks
A panic attack is a frightening event for anyone to experience.
It’s a sudden onset of intense fear that momentarily grips the sufferer without warning.
Symptoms include a racing heart, difficulty in breathing, sweating and disorientation. These symptoms can be interpreted by the sufferer as the onset of a heart attack, which only serves to amplify those already heightened feelings of panic.
Whilst it may seem that there is no obvious cause, there is an underlying reason why the mind and body react in this way.
The immediate need is for calm, to lower the emotional stress and allow the body to return to its normal state.
Then the root of the problem needs to be addressed to eliminate any reoccurrence of the attacks.
Hypnotherapy can help you to relieve the ongoing stress that is driving the condition and allow any relevant traumatic episode to be defused.
If you or someone close to you is experiencing distressing panic episodes why not give me a call? I will be happy to talk it through, and you can then decide if you would like my help.
