Stress

Stress

Stress comes in many forms and it takes a heavy toll on mental and physical well-being. It can make you feel irritable and on edge, bad-tempered, and depressed. You may struggle to get to sleep or suffer disturbed sleep. It can lead to the onset of headaches, chronic stomach upsets and digestive problems. Over time it can lead to the development of serious illnesses, ranging from high blood pressure and heart disease to cancer.

In an attempt to alleviate stress, some people damage themselves even further by over-indulging in, or becoming addicted to, alcohol or drugs or other harmful distracters. The key to lowering stress levels is to recognize the particular ‘stress-drivers’ in your life and learn how to reduce or eliminate them.

Hypnotherapy will help you do this. It will teach you how to cope better in stressful situations. It will give you back a sense of control instead of allowing circumstances to bend you out of shape and raise your blood pressure.

Hypnotherapy by its very nature enables you to acquire the ability to be more relaxed than you have ever been before.

Anxiety

Anxiety

What is the purpose of anxiety? Why do we tend to worry so much?
It’s part of our survival mechanism. All of us have some degree of anxiety in our lives. Anxiety is a call to action. It keeps us alert to potential dangers and in doing so helps us to stay safe.

But when the stresses and strains of daily life cause anxiety levels to rise, or if a fearful incident triggers the onset of high anxiety, it leads to a host of mental and physical problems.

It’s important then to reduce that intense anxiety in order to acquire a level of calmness and relaxation that allow us to feel safe, happy and secure.

Hypnotherapy by its very nature induces deep relaxation. It can be effectively used to defuse extreme anxiety caused by a specific experience or an accumulation of experiences. The initial treatment naturally leads the client into a calmer and more relaxed state, and those calming benefits are felt from the very first session.

Guilt

Guilt is that feeling of having treated someone unfairly or having done something you wished you hadn’t done.

Along with that is a fear of retribution, of being punished in some way - either by yourself in the form of mental self-punishment, by other people or, depending on your beliefs, in the after-life.

It could be a minor transgression, telling a ‘white lie’ or two. It might be more serious such as defrauding a person or an organization. It could be a major trauma where someone has been badly hurt by your actions.

It’s an uncomfortable feeling and one that’s difficult to shake off.

Hypnotherapy can help you address that guilty feeling and come to terms with the cause. And most importantly, it can help you to forgive yourself and finally break free.
